decided to take alfie out for his first walk after being on box rest for the past 15 weeks. my friend rode her safe as houses cob out in front to give us a lead.
and he was quite good considering, until large arctic lorry got right up our backsides. thus causing me and alfie to have a merry dance around in the middle of the road, and the stupid idiotic driver still driving towards us.
well you can imagine what i start shouting then as my poor baby's still backing up scared to death of this lorry and nearly sitting on flashy bmw who has stopped on the other side of the road.
what i would have loved to have done to him if i hadn't had to hold alfie.
and when i finally regain control the silly f***er drives away again at full pelt.
why do people think passing horses on roads is like overtaking other vehicles.

Well first of all, really pleased for you to get Alfie out for a walk after soooo long in his box, but what a shame it wasn't quite as relaxing as you'd have hoped. I assume, other than being a tad annoyed at the lorry driver, Alfie was otherwise okay?

yes he looked a lot happier than he has been in a while. mind you i m aching all over.
we went out through the woods this morning just to keep off the road but then you get dogs running all over. im in a bit of a no win situation atm.

All sounds a little hair raising. As he only needs 10 mins walking a day you'd be far safer just walking around the yard. Wouldn't have thought the woods were a good idea at all at this stage of his recovery though tbh.

A good tip though if you have to go on the road is to ensure that your friend keeps right out - thereby forcing cars to slow right down. And always walk yourself on the off side, keeping yourself between horse and traffic.
