Hello everyone - long time no speak! How the devil are you all?? :D

Hope everyone is well!

Right, i am on the prowl for a dog ... specifically a spaniel!

My Dad's Underkeeper (new one) is looking for an adult spaniel for 'dogging in' (no funny comments please!!:rolleyes:)

Anyone who is aware of the keepering world will understand where i am coming from when i say 'Dogging in' (again, excuse the expression!)

Its basically needing a nutty spangle to push wandering birds back to their rightful 'area' ... most keepers have a specific dog for this as it's not good practice to have a dog from the beating line running and chasing like a loon all summer! Hardly fair!

So .... basically im asking if anyone on here is rehoming? Looking to rehome? Anyone know of anyone?

The dog will have a great life! Anyone know of a spangle who wouldnt like to spend its days chasing pheasants ... on purpose LOL :rolleyes::rolleyes:

I have obviously considered rehoming centres/RSPCA but it's just not an option!

Thanks for reading :)

Spot_The_Risk if you are reading this .... we need a Freddie basically!!

Hello you, I was wondering where you'd got too!! :D

I've a littler of very well bred Cocker pups here, but that's about it. Look on Planet Gundog or Gundog Breeders UK, there are often adult dogs on there.

Good luck and good to see you back. ;)

A friend of mine has got 3 sprollie pups looking for homes, they are 12 weeks old and started basic training. Not sure where you are though, these are in Wales.

Thanks guys :)

Alec its nice to be back! :)

Unfortunately we need something grow up and ready to go ... needed within the next month!

Thinking along the lines of Pet spaniel proving to be too much for a family looking to rehome .... or a working dog that hasn't made the grade?

James can use my Jake in the interim but as some of you know, i struggle keeping his weight on and like to keep his weight up throughout the summer ready for a hard winter!

Might be worth giving Raynestone a call anyway SA - they do take back pups if they get too much and occasionally rehome so they may know of a suitable older dog.

Good luck with your search either way!

Hi again, I know you said you didnt want to go down the rescue route but have a look at Dylan http://dogsfriends.me.uk/dogsforadoption/dogsforadoption.php?page=4

I know Rose whose rescue this is( I nearly fostered a Dobe last week) and this dog is currently living in the stables and it dosnt look as though it is going to be rehomed anytime soon. If you are interested I could have a word with her.

On the plus side you could combine it with a visit to Vizzys as it is near her and I :)

DG - will call James now, seems ideal! Think he will adapt well to the 'pack' life and chill out considerably? Maybe not a fussy house dog?
