fistulous withers

has anyone had any experience of fistulous withers? i have a yearling with this condition and its looking like surgery may be the only option. he is not insured so am trying to find out if anyone has had surgery - what it involved, cost and wether it was succesful. also has anyone cured this without surgery?? any other imput regarding drawing infection would be greatly appreciated.

Yes. 5 yr old mare operated on at Newmarket in Feburary. Perhaps your vet could talk to the surgeon who operated as its such an unusual condition these days.
