This is probably a question that's been asked to death, but what is a vague timeline of how long it would take to get a 11yo light 'sporthorse' type (half TB) to low level eventing fitness?
Currently turned out 24/7 most days, in good condition and hacked about twice a week (usually one hack involves a short bit of trot/canter off road).
Has been in this level of hacking work (due to lack of time, not injury) for about 6 months. Before this he was pretty fit and competing/schooling at a much higher level than I would be looking at doing this year.
Finally I have my schedule sorted to allow me to ride much more so have been looking at low level (80cm, maybe 90) competitions for the summer but not really sure what dates I should be looking at to give enough time to get him fit enough to comfortably do this?
