I have really worked on getting Zoomy fit this summer and she is now hunting ready

She is a lean mean galloping machine and looks great.

The only problem is that she has recently become really spooky. She has always been fizzy but totally bombproof. Now, especially when I'm riding alone, silly things make her splat (rustling leaves, car doors closing etc). I have had her two years and she has never splatted until a month ago. She is on a non-heating diet that she has always have. I think it is genuine rather than Monty who likes to do the side-shimmy-dump-mummy on the floor trick!

Do you think it is just her level of fitness? Does anyone elses horse get spooky when they're fit?

nope- i have found horses are at their most spooky when they are 1/2 or 3/4 fit.

when they are truly fit mine have always been MUCH easier to ride than when they are getting fit
