I ride George in a hanging cheek myler for flat work and he definately seems to prefer a drop noseband to a flash (cavesson no good as he does sometimes put his tongue over the bit). My YM was riding him whilst I was on holiday and noticed that his bit was too high (bit to smiley on the lips

), so she dropped it down, but then if you use the drop noseband in the right place it pushes the bit back up and the cheekpieces then bulge out and it kind off defeats the object of using a hanging cheek.

So any suggestions, or should I just go back to a flash

Sounds like you need some inbetweeny holes... If you are in the mood for shopping then have some fun

Honestly, though, i'd pop the bit back up those holes if he goes better in the drop.

Sounds like the bit has to go up a bit! Have you got any photos of the bit in each position? I might have one of Antifaz (I ride him in a hanging cheek french link) but he's in a flash, so it might not be very useful for you...
