Fitting a Neue Schule Universal with leather curb strap.....

As the title says really..
I've decided to try Ernie in one of these..
I had long chats with Heather at NS, and we both decided that this was the bit to try.. however, i forgot to ask how to fit the leather strap.. ie how tight? and how does it sit with the noseband...

Am on my way to go and try him in it now.. so expect alot more will become clear when i actually put it on.. but nice to start with an idea

The strap sits below the noseband. I tend to the strap up so that I can see it is going to be effective if that makes sense, and then if I feel he's going to be v strong (i.e. hunting) I do it up a bit tighter!

Amazing bit.. for anyone thinking of buying one!!
I still had plenty in my hand, he wasn't backing off it!! But when i needed something to happen, i just had to send thoughts down the rein, and it happened without any fighting!!

They are fantastic bits. I used one of Goddy for hunting with a grackle noseband and it was the only thing he accepted without being uncontrollable
