Fitting elasticated breastplates... how???

Bought myself a little bargin... got one of these elastic breastplates, wanted one for AGES...

But how do you fit these compared to normal breastplates? How snug should they be?

(Am dead chuffed with it - £20, won it on Weds afternoon and paid straight away - arrived in post yesterday - less than 24hours! Soooo impressed at seller and Royal Mail!)

I have a plain breast girth, and the saddler said it should be just touching; snug but not tight, as the elastic allows for movement.
I would make the bit between the legs a bit tighter though, maybe a hands width?

You're supposed to be able to easily slide your hand flat underneath it around the chest but meet resistance if you try to turn your hand.
