Who looks after your horses for you when you go on holiday, away for the weekend or out for the day etc. Do you find it a worry and problem. Do they get looked after well whilst in someone elses care. Do you get charged a fortune or nothing atall. Also do you worry about them when you are on your holidays. Questions, questions and more questions, you can have 50/50, ask the audience or phone a friend !!!!!!

I found a very good freelance groom that comes and does the nags whilst I am away. I just call her a couple of weeks before I go, and she comes over and does what needs to be done, texts me every night to let me know they are ok and puts my mind at ease.

I do a rota with a friend at the field and we feed each others when we are away. I also have my mum and Monty's sharer who are always willing to cover days for me. I'm spoiled really!

However, next weekend someone will need to bring them in for me and feed, as I'm going out. One of the liveries is going to do this for me and I'm happy that they will be fine.

I'm going away for a few days in September as well, and YO will do my horses with help from the other liveries. I'm slightly worried about going away and leaving them. I haven't left my horse for more than 1/2 day since I've had him (2 1/2 years!) I'm sure they'll be fine but I will be worried and will rush home as soon as poss to check on them

My sister does my horse while I'm away and I usually give her some money for it, and if for whatever reason she cnat do her on a particular day then friend at yard does her.
I trust both people so have np reason to worry while I'm away.

I have a friend that looks after mine when i go away, and i do the same for her. Works really well as we also help each other out if we just want a day off to.

When I've had odd days when I can't get there my daughter has done the baggage for me. We are all going away together soon so the YN will keep any eye on her for me along with the other liveries. We all keep an eye on each others horses so it works very well for us

My DIY yard benefits from assisted livery if you want/need to buy it. Only £5 for a full day's care incl change jammies, feeding, mucking out, hay nets, water change, bring in/turn out.

Kissing fuzzy warm noses over the stable door is extra

My sharer has him full time when I'm away and vice versa. If we're both away (very rare) one of the other liveries will keep an eye on him in the summer or I pay the YO to do him in the winter.

OOOh It's so hard! I look after 4 different people's sets of horses when they go away but worry like mad if i have to leave mine! Luckily my brother does them for me most of the time, he's not the most experienced but he loves them and does it my way which helps ease the worry! Stressy TB can't cope with change and can be funny for other people!

I'm lucky in that he's at grass and doesn't get fed ATM, so the other liveries can keep an eye on him if I'm away for a few days. If I needed more help, I'd ask a freelance groom that I know.

That is good value! I pay £5 per day to check and feed 4 horses but the girl is very local and totally trustworthy. I turn mine out when I go away to keep costs down essentially.I dont go away in the middle of winter though.

took a week away to teach Pony Club camp - 3 horses out at night and in during the day - skip out, feed and hay. One out all the time with one feed/day and one in all the time. Cost me £120. Didn't hear from YOon the basis that no news was good news!

Don't have holidays

Depending on what my horses plans are work/competition wise I will do one of a variety of things:
1. Leave it in the field and have a friend glance at it daily for free
2. Short term get the YO to do horse - £10 a day stabled care and offer horse to friends to ride!
3. Have on schooling livery for 1-2 weeks

But I tend to try and tie my holidays in around times when I want horse to have a break and it can be left in field!
