fitting of hunt coats

does anyone else find that off the peg hunt coats are too short for them?

I tried the shires clifton one the other day, and you could see the top of my jods.... so i thought i'd try the mears one, same size, same problem... I'm not even that tall - i'm 5'8".

any ideas?

See, I knew there must be a good side to being short - I'm 5'1'' and the Clifton is fine on me Sorry, not helpful, but it's very rare I have reason to pleased about my height

I find nothing off the peg fits me. I am short and slightly fat and if a jacket goes round my middle, it is too long in the body and arms, and sometimes too big on the shoulders giving me an 80s look. I will probably have to get one M2M, but have no money available ATM.
I have 5 jackets (2 black, 3 tweed), 3 are too tight, one is huge and the last is a bit long and I have to fold the cuffs up!

I have a similar problem: off-the-rack jackets tend to be far too long in the body, and too short in the sleeves. I finally caved and had one M2M. Well worth it. Though it means I'm limited to one, tweed, jacket, until I can afford to get another one made...
