I have bought a stainless steel stable mirror for the ned, and am going to ask some kind soul to put it up for me. The stable is breezeblock, can it go straight onto the wall? I know acrylic ones need a backboard, but thought a steel one would be ok?
Do you just srew it in or what? Im sure the YM's hubby will know, but Id be interested to know how other people have done them?

mine is acrylic and its mounted on a back board and drilled into a breeze block wall.

Our yard handyman did mine for me! Just drilled some holes in the wall and put it up, simple as that! just make sure you get the positioning right - ie not where your horse eats, and so he can see his whole head when he looks in it etc.

Mine is acrylic ( i think about 6 years old) and we mounted it straight on to breeze blocks and it is still up, we lost a bit when a mouse managed to get underneath it and I hit the mirror. Resulting in me taking a small chunk out of it. So be warned no one hit their mirror if a mouse is hiding

Thanks PG, I was thinking of putting it to the left of the door.
This will mean moving his haylage, but as he is fed off the floor this shouldnt be a prob!
Will have to put the haybar at the back of the stable when I get round to putting it back up.... hmm think Im turning into some sort of stable accessory whore!
