Our trailer is old but solid and in good repair. It had a new hardwood floor eight years ago, I have checked it regularly. At the end of last year I noticed that there was a small, shallow patch of rot on the end of one of the boards so I know it will need some investigation/work before we start using it again.

So the question is - Can we replace just the boards that show rot or is it a false economy to take it apart and put back used planks? Money isn't the issue here but I don't want to waste any either.

Also can anyone recommend a good trailer floor replacer near Milton Keynes. The chap I usually use seems good on the mechanics but when I mentioned the floor suggested covering it with ply - my least favorite option!

If part is rotten you can safely say the rest will on the way out, best bet is phenol ply its the redish colored stuff a good timber merchant or lorry bodybuilder should have it, very strong and longlasting go for 12mm or more say 17mm if you are going to remove the old wood ...DO NOT under any circumstances use marine or any un protected ply!!! it rots quickly!!!
