Fizz has some how managed to catch her dew claw and broken it, well snapped it.
It is still attached, no bleeding, she seems to be moving around ok and jumping etc, she licks it occasionally but otherwise it doesn't seem to be bothering her.

It is the actual nail that is broken, it has broken where the nail hangs down/curved round bit.

I have before had to take her to the out of hours vet once because she had pulled a claw nail forward and twisted it round and it was bleeding. They had to knock the poor girl out and remove the whole thing.
 
you should be able to see with it being a white nail where the blood vessel ends, I take it its beneath that as no blood?? I would just snip it off!! If you think she may snap at you muzzle her and get someone to hold her for you, it will be over and done with in 2 secs! She will only catch it if its fractured xx
 
Rubbish attempt but this should make it a little clearer where the problem is.
Her dew claw wasn't that long, so looks like she has broken it and come forward a small bit.

The nerve and blood vessel are in the pink bit, tis like our nails..... be firm and do it in one movement, I would really recommend someone holds the pup for you xx
 
Well my step dad wanted to try and clip it back this morning but i knew he wouldn't be able to as it was too sore.

So we took her to the vets this morning to see if they could cut it back, but she broke it so far back it would leave the quick uncovered, so they had to sedate her and quarterized it. So we are going back about 12pm to pick her up.

Bless her i really don't know how she does it :lol:
