It was a whole £10 per person to get in and there were hardly any runners - the most in a race was 4 and one race only had 1 runner so was a "walk over".

They said it was because the ground was too fast which is understandable and hunts need to make money where they can but I think £10 to not see any racing is a bit much - and they have shot thenselves in the foot for future years.

come on High Peak Harriers - do you want us to keep coming back???

Good job there was a big bar, thats all I can say. Serious let down though, betting on two runners is no fun, and watching two horses over that course is abit like watching pairs xc at campsall, but with less jumps..

haha - CALA - you have got us sooo wrong if you think we are posh - true Barnsley girls is what we are!

Im glad I didnt have the day off work to go then! Its usually a really good day out! Im surprised the ground was hard up there anyway, it usually stays quite soft up near bakewell all year around!

I'm afraid this is a common problem with point to points this time of year. The earlier events usually have good ground and lots of runners but the weather isn't too inviting so not huge crowds of spectators. Weather like we have at the moment brings in enormous crowds but often the ground is like concrete and owners are obviously reluctant to run their horses and risk injuring them.

Eyton pt to pt on Easter Monday had only 25 runners across the card I understand, and was £20 per car to get in. I was going to go but decided against it as had a feeling this would be the situation. The ground was just too fast for many, and to think we were all complaining about the mud a few weeks ago!

oh Cottenham halfed the cost of entries on saturday so down to £5, they did water the ground but it was still pretty firm and not many runners declaring. Still some decent races thou..

I did take the day off to go, and to top it off couldn't have a beer as i had to drive. Very disappointed, could have stayed home and got pis*ed!!

We paid £25 for the car at Hackwood Park P-2-P on Monday and 2 of the flippin races were walkovers ! again no more than 4 runners a race most were 1, 2 or 3 horses.
