Well Flash went to see a specialist yesterday as he's been lame for a month now, bilateral lameness in his forelegs. There's not been any injury, swelling, heat or lumps and bumps, and this is the 3rd vet he's seen and still no answers

He wasn't lame enough for nerve blocks, so we don't know where exactly the lameness is, but he's had X rays and they've all come back fine, so at least that's a relief. I've been told to bring him slowly back in to work to see how he goes, but I'm not doing that until the farrier and physio have been next week just in case its back ormuscle related. Not sure what to think really

He was in full on stallion mode and looked incredibly impressive when he was lunged for the vet, and we got so many compliments I was a very proud mum, but seeing him move like that makes it even more frustrating that he's not right

I just want my little baby to get better, I haven't had a good nights sleep in a month now!

Well its good neews theres nothing on the x rays, but so frustrating for you that you still don't know what the problem is. A friend of mine has the reverse situation, her mare has developed a very swollen for leg, between fetlock and knee, but absolutely no lameness. Vet says its not worth x-raying as she is not lame and just to keep working her until she does go lame!! I think she is actually going to turn her away for the winter and see what happens. I'll keep my fingers crossed that farrier or physio find something, or better still that he comes right again soon.

Thanks MM, I'm definitely leaving him until he's seen them, it won't do him any harm mooching around in the field for another week! Just going to take things very slowly and hope he gets better soon!
