Hiya, silly question really but have you or would you book a flatwork lesson with an instructor on a grass surface? I recently moved to a yard with no school (as yet) but we are allowed to ride in the paddock which I tried out today and it seems to be fine (ground conditions permitting of course) - I would like to continue with lessons this summer and wondering if I could just have some at home yard rather than having to go somewhere as this would be the easiest and cheapest option?

If you are going to event most of the arenas you will encounter will be on grass, so I would say get used to it! :D

From the horse's point of view, the younger you increase their experience of different proprioceptive feedback the better.

Yes!
As a wannabe eventer, I need to be able to do a decent test on grass. Had a lesson on grass recently and done most my schooling on grass even though we have an arena.

Before all these arenas and posh surfaces were invented we all had lessons on grass. It'll do you no harm. Enjoy your lesson.

Yes I recently had a lesson on grass with a new instructor, I mentioned that we didn't have a school to her beforehand and she said she teaches people all the time on grass. Enjoy!
