Soon-to-be new pony needs a saddle and I have a feeling he might be tricky. Saddler has had a quick look and says he needs a saddle with a flat tree due to his v flat back. (He’s also short coupled - no longer than 16.5 - with a forward girth groove.)

What makes/models would suit? I’ve never had one like this so a bit lost!
(Saddler is coming out soon but I wouldn’t mind having a look beforehand.)

I have a lovely Nick Dolman jump saddle that has a flat tree and panels, there's also some of the native pony specialists that might suit

I have an old GP saddle that fitted my mare well but totally useless on my sister's section C due to his short dippy back. I have had this saddle over 25 yrs and it was old when I bought it. Would something like that suit do you think?

My flat backed arab has had a black country working hunter which fitted nicely and he has a Heritage working hunter that also fits well, I prefer something that is straighter cut at the front hence why I get a show working hunter type saddle.

Some ideal models could work or AH saddles they are for native wider types they also do an upswept panel so you have a bit more seat room but is shorter on the back.
