No idea where Johnston is as I just view Glasgow as one place but I did get a lot from my flatwork lessons from John Cameron when I used him and I know he's Glasgow based. He was in equi-ads/Scottish Rider recently winning an award for his teaching IIRC

It would be worth you joining the Renfrewshire Riding Club. They have regular flatwork lessons with really good instructors, usually held at Lawmarnock Farm which is about a 30 minute hack from you.

for e.g. here's their upcoming stuff for the next month:
"Tuesday 21 January - Linda Barnes lessons @ The Braes (£25 for 30mins and £35 for 45mins) - start around 6.30pm and finish around 8/9pm depending on numbers
Saturday 25 January - Debbie Rodwell lessons @ Lawmarnock (£20 for 30mins and £30 for 1 hour)
Sunday 26 January - Clear Round Jumping @ Lawmarnock (weather permitting)
Saturday 1 February - Dressage Test & Teach with Ailsa Gilchrist @ Lawmarnock"
