Hi,
I brought a 8 week old **** zu x lapso puppy last week who had a few fleas nothing major but was very itchy. I have now wormed and de flea'd her and all the fleas are now gone but she is still scratching and biting herself. I have also treated my soft furnishings just incase any jumped/layed eggs on carpets etc.
Should I take her to the vets or just wait a few days and see if it calms down. She is very well in herself and is a happy bouncy bundle of fluff, but just seems to be a bit itchy :(.

May be the food: what are you feeding? Cereals notoriously cause allergies. Anything from the supermarket should be avoided. Have you bathed the pup with anti flea shampoo? And if you used Frontline spot on or one from a supermarket, go get a prescription one instead as those other ones won't work.

Bought? Brought?

How long ago did you deflea and what product did you use? Flea bite irritation doesnt subside as soon as the fleas are removed but should settle very quickly. These breeds are also prone to skin irritations generally and will typically lick paws and show very pink sore skin, if this is the case have a look at the diet as suggested by CT, you should ideally be feeding low cereal high meat content food (though I appreciate at 8 weeks you are probably still feeding what the breeder used).

Hi,
I used the frontline spray as get it for my cats. she was de flea'd a couple of days ago and yes she is not on the best food she is on pedigree chum puppy meat but do want to get her on something else, any suggestions on the best food to give tiny puppies???

Dry food with red being bad:

Wet food, same system:

Pedigree, as you know, is downright awful, as is anything from the supermarket. You don't really need a specific puppy food. Do check ingredients and avoid cereals (although rice is ok) and don't believe anyone who tells you Royal Canin, Eukanuba, Hills or Bakers are OK! I would avoid anything from Iams or Purina or anything with 'Permitted EU preservatives/additives' as these tend to be BHA or BHT, both very dodgy, potentially carcinogenic ingredients.

Just switch super slowly by substituting the new very, very gradually. If you fancy going au naturel, read the raw sticky.
