This week I have picked off TWO separate crawling things from Flick's head which I thought were fleas. But when I got them and squashed them between finger and thumb (no fingernails involved!) then they died

I thought fleas had a hard shell which needed to be pinched between fingernails to make them die

It has to be said that I am absolutely disgusted - my dogs never have fleas EVER - and I think it is because my delicate feminine Islay and Flick have been mixing with the hoi polloi of dogs at the new yard

I did them with Frontline this morning (OMG £25

) and I just hope this is not going to be a regular requirement

haha i felt the same when i saw them on my delicate little lady! :P

they may have been young fleas...? or maybe just someting from the garden she's picked up. at least if they were fleas they are sorted now - and if not, probaby done them in too!

Death to all flea-like things

I am getting slightly paranoid about them now and keep examining both the dogs suspiciously - Flick is easy as she is mostly white, but no chance of finding them on Islay as she is all black

Dont think so about the hedgehog - there hasnt been one in the garden I am sure, as the dogs usually bark at them

Even little Flick has now mastered the affronted greyhound look as I check her for little visitors again, but nothing to be seen

No that is £25 for a pack of 3 pipettes - I use two pipettes each time as I have two dogs.

I am quite an experienced dog owner

and I do realise how much flea treatments cost, but thanks for reassuring me
