Hi, am looking for a fleece rug that doesnt slip backwards, all the ones i have tried seem to "walk" backwards, getting very tight, even the new le mieux , which looks a bit like a thermatex, lucky pony has one of those as well. I have had the PE buster continental cooler, but even that has moved. Any ideas? TIA

Is there a reason you need an actual fleece rug? They're good for putting on when wet but I don't use them overnight for that reason. If its to use as a light weight stable rug i much prefer to use a stable/cotton sheet. I've got this one that works well

Yep, me too I own a beautiful rambo fleece, but horse never wears in his stable as it as it slips back and collects shavings, which I think must be so itchy and irritating for them. Gets used a bit for travelling, but that's about all. Instead I use those technical wicking sheets or a 50g poly. Much more comfortable for my horse and easier for me to keep clean.

The rambos are very very warm .
We have the priemer Equine fleeces as thin fleeces they work well .
With fleece type rugs you must not get them to big err on side of a snug fit .

Swish are a lovely fit and haven't moved on mine - but don't have cross surcingles, just one belly strap

I find fleece rugs slip back when they are too big. I have one that's too big and it ends up tight on the chest when it slips

I have a few of the weatherbeeta ones with the non fleece front instead it's a shiny nylon material at the front of the rug, I find they don't move or stretch as much as the full fleece once.

Yes I've had one of these in the past and it did stay in place well, only issue I had was it started to split on the seam between shiny stuff/fleece as I think shoulders were too large for it.

Then got eaten by mice and went in the bin...

For a basic thinner fleece (as in thinner than the Rambo) I like Weatherbeeta. They are satin lined over the shoulder and wither to prevent rubs but it also makes the neck area non stretch so prevents them sliding back.

I've tried all sorts of fleeces, but they all move back. I pop one on for an hour or so if my horse is soaked, but no longer. If it's a stable rug that's needed for a proper chilly night then I use a proper stable rug in a shiny dressing gown fabric.

Some great replies, many thanks, have found a fleece lined rug on Kramer, amongst other lovely things. will bear all suggestions in mind.
