As per previous posts an new to the area. Where is the best place to buy conventional sized bales of hay and straw? Would prefer to collect as and when I need. Can buy onsite where I am but prices are sky high and quality not so great!

snack and tack, rokers, frosburys, faulkers... (all feed stores) would be worth looking on the boards there as there are a lot of people advertising small bales of hay at the moment also worth going to buttons saddlery and places like that to look at their boards... i buy big bales so im not much use to you and the woman who i used to buy small bales off doesnt really have enough to supply us anymore which is a shame but the big bales im getting are lovely and Rio is eating them so bonus

I used big bales previously, were fab quality and very economical, but sadly am not allowed to store large ones where I am :-(

hmmm snack and tack, rockers and fosburys are the best quality store bought ones - frosburys being the most expensive but they are nice, rokers are about 5.75 a bale of hay ( i think) and im not sure what snack and tack charge but i think im going in there to get some feed so i can have a look for you - im also going to buttons saddlery tomorrow to ook at saddles so i can have a look on the board, will also look on snack and tacks board to see what there is if you like and i can pm you with details, names, numbers and where they are

I'd second Shapley Ranch. They're on the A30 just outside of Hartley Whitney.
