My lovely boy has just been diagnosed with a few issues that mean he will require very careful work over the next while. He has a few instances of DJD in various places (coffin joint, hocks) and a few kissing spines. All of the above have been treated, so he is on complete box rest for a couple of days, can be walked in hand for a few minutes for a week as of Sunday, and from next Saturday onwards can go back to his normal turnout routine. From then, I can begin to introduce light work (long reining) but with no tack, under vets orders.
Anyway, my current saddle is a gorgeous havana Barnsby GP.. but the vet feels it is too bulky and heavy for him and has recommended I get something more lightweight. As I will no longer be doing any jumping, just hacking and light schooling, does anyone have any experiences with the Flexee dressage saddle? Is it as good as it says? I am gutted to potentially be getting rid of the Barnsby (I absolutely love it) but will no longer use it on him if it isn't right. The flexee looks decent, it is fairly traditional looking (although shame it doesn't come in brown!) and the price is probably what I could stretch to, given I've just paid out on a fairly substantial vets bill, whats another few hundred quid eh.....
Thoughts and experiences welcomed!
