Hi looking for some advice please. Lad is 13 year old gigantic big heavy draft. Previous owner schooled him to medium level dressage, now diagnosed (by vet and instructor) with probable mild joint changes to hocks, but not enough for lameness work up. Recommended I start a joint supplement of some type.

Currently fed combo of chaff, cool and condition, micronised linseed, top spec comp balancer, split between two feeds daily, carrots and/or parsnips with night time feed. Haylage at night in stable and grass during day. I will soon move to my own land so he can be out 24/7.

Barefoot Lad is lunged long and low twice a week, schooled for two half hour sessions a week and hacked either once at a good pace (no buckle), or in a more relaxed manner.

I've read lots of good things about flexijoint, but wondered whether I should just change my balancer?

I look after a 29 year old mare with hock problems - she had to retire years ago due to them, though can't remember what the problem is...

Anyway coming into winter she started getting really stiff (lives out 24/7 as she is like cardboard in the morning if stabled!) so tried her on NAF joint flex and the improvement was almost instant, what a difference. I've been looking after her for around a year and the other week I saw her canter for the first time with the others hareing about, she was having a blast!

A few months ago I could barely pick her back feet out, and while the others bombed to the gate at feeding time she would amble slowly along, joints barely bending, and now she strides along in a walk/trot/canter with such purpose she can easily over-take the others. Even the look in her eyes says it all, she is a lot more comfortable!
