Flexiride Or Rubber

Hi
I have a Flexiride surface on top of a sand base and I must say we have been very impressed with it. It needs very little maintenance, just a chain harrow and has been brilliant during the winter as it did not freeze. During the dry spell and no rain it has helped the sand hold its moisture - I would definitely buy Flexiride over rubber !! Hope this helps.

Never ridden on flexiride but I love the rubber school I use. It maintains a consistent surface regardless of the weather and the horses love it, they really ping along in there.

We have just had flexiride, havent had a chance to ride on it yet but so far very impressed! its so light and spongy!
We chose it after having so many good reviews about it. Apparently its just like rubber but doesnt have the horrible smell when it gets really hot like rubber does, plus no black marks on legs.

I have read that you are having a few problems with your arena.

I have a Flexiride topping on a sand base which works very well and we are really pleased with it.
However, my friend is an arena grounds person and I have asked him about what you have said about your sand not being rolled, watered and compacted.
If your sand base is not totally level, watered, rolled and therefore compact, whatever topping you have is not going to be level either as the underneath is not correct and it will ride loose and deep. You may be best to scrape back the Flexiride, water, roll and compact your sand so it is firm, let it settle then put the topping back on, the problem wont be with the topping. He also said you need to check you have the correct grade of sand.

Hope this helps.
