Flies and Clipping

Is anyone else having the same problems when they clip this year? The flies are horrendous both in and out of the stables. I have just clipped my cob for his third time this year, and he is normally an angel to clip, but he was throwing himself around with flies biting. I tried both in and outside, not much difference. Fly repellant had no effect on sleepy biting flies......he is done now, but not the best clip in the world! Just wondered what other people do/use when faced with this problem??

Did you say flies? Crikey - I haven't seen one of those for about 2 months....

I expect the exceptionally mild weather has not helped keep them alive where you are - it is due to change today so fingers crossed they will all die off soon or at least buzz off...

We still have lots of midges and some flies and even a wasp turned up at our yard this afternoon! Flipping things, am sure they should be gone by now
