flies and sarcoids

My cob had a small sarcoid on his chest which we have sucessfully treated with 'sarc off'. The sarcoid fell off 2 weeks ago and am left with just a small dry bare patch of skin where it was.
I have noticed that even though the site is clean and dry it is attracting flies, but am reluctant to put fly spray on the site in case it irritates -do you think it is safe to do so?

I'd pop Sudocreme on it, personally.

i would be wary of sudocreme personally as it can help heal and i have always been warned from putting anything which can heal on the site of a sarcoid removal.

i would cover it with vaseline, thats what i did with my boy's.

Thanks - would I cover the whole site with vaseline or just around the perimiter?

Another vote for vaseline, liberally applied all over. It is sticky and slightly annoying but it stays on no matter what and it protects the site from flies, infections, etc.
