Ive pretty much given up on fly sprays, just use a homemade concoction as I dont think any actually work much better but I couldnt live without his Equilibrum Fly Mask. He can cope with the flies as long as they arent in his ears or eyes.

I don't use shop bought fly repellents, I just make my own. There are 2 types that I use, 1 is vinegar......they hate vinegar!! and the other id citronella. If you mix them with water they work really well. Another thing is mixing garlic into the feed, it makes the blood taste funny so biting insects don't like it and it also comes out of the horses pores. Hope this is helpful.:p

Agree with others re fly sprays etc they have no effect on mine at all. Someone let me use Deosect that they use for their horse last year and it worked very well. It is something that is diluted and then wiped over the horse. You need to re-apply but how often will depend on how many times your horse is hosed down in the hotter weather. It is expensive but it did work.

Good luck with whatever you opt for.
