Flies

The flies here are terrible (already appearing).

What fly sheets/masks/repellents do you use, and how effective do you find them?. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Last summer she had a mask and plenty of prescription repellent from the vet as he said it was the only thing that worked, except it didn't really

. Poor girl was driven insane.

We have alot of Horsefly here.It drives the horses nuts.I use my own fly repellent and have never bought shop repellant.

1.5 ltrs of cold very strong stewed tea,
500ml of malt vinegar,
10ml of citronella,
chuck it all in a washed out coke bottle and put it into a garden mist sprayer.Do put it on mister if you are worried about coat staining.

Thats it.you get about 2 ltrs fior about a quid.

garlic!! if you dont feed over the summer then best thing to use is dengie good doer with scoop of garlic in it as a wee token feed everyday, worked well for my pony but depends on the animal really!
