FLIES!!

I am looking after a Thoroughbred and he has very sensitive skin, he has come up in lumps from all the fly bites and massive ones by his sheath and on the underside or his belly and they are very sore. Poor Zippy!

Please can i have all your recommendations on..
1. Fly sprays to keep them away (with out irritating his sensitive skin).
2. Lotions to soothe the bites he already has?

Any Recommendations hugely appreciated

I have one who gets savaged by the flies and reacts quite badly. I use aloe vera on the bites he has which helps a lot, and then plenty of fly spray (not one in particular, I don't find any to be better or worse than others). Also use yellow summer fly cream on his sheath as that lasts longer than fly spray.

No idea if it'll be sensitive enough for him (if that makes any sense, I fear it doesn't..), but I use Coopers on my boy and have found it very good xx

In all honesty I've never found sprays to be effective enough for bad cases. I'd pop a fly rug on him in addition to some good spray.

I think i will try the aloe vera on him and hopefully that will help. As for fly spray i'm still not sure, i will keep looking! Unfortunately i can't put a fly rug on him, as his field buddy eats everything my boy has on or takes it off for him (should have put that in opening post, sorry!) -.-
