These are genrally VERY rideable i have bought a couple for client and always found them fab. I think the lovely horse that Charlotte Dujardan has, Ferdinand, is a wonderful horse with a fab traiable attitude with lovely movement. He won the Korenbloem challenge as he was bought at the Brightwells auction, not the top price 'flash' horse but because of his trainability and attitude has made him a star. This is quite typical of the bloodline. They are genrally correct movers with 3 good paces and are a nice biuld,in that they are not on the whole 'heavey'
My beasty is out of Florestan and also another persons at our yard. They are both big horses, mine 17.2 the other 16.3 at the moment (he is just 5) but mine is quite a bolshy boy and hers is very gentle! I think he could have possibly been cut late as he shows signs of stallion like behaviour.
Having said that he is an angel to ride and not too sharp. He is quite laid back in his training, sometimes too laid back!
I used to ride a horse by him a couple of years ago. He really was a gentle giant. He was 17.1hh and quite stocky but very short coupled. He was really laid back and quite lazy but had fantastic movement. He knew how to have a paddy though!
