Well, not sure if you can call 2'6 clear round a 'competition' but it was never-the-less an outing!!
The aim was to get their early when no-one else was there, warm up and give her anice quiet intro to sjing. Things are never straightforwards and so at the time we were supposed to be leaving I was still getting various horses in. Never mind!
Was at a local indoor equestrian centre, warmed up so sweetly outdoors in a small arena with 4 others whizzing round
She was amazingly calm and listening to me which was nice. Popped the practice fence a few times (knees skyhigh so at least I know she can jump!!)
Couldnt believe it when she walked into the covered collecting ring, stood as cool as a cucumber watching a couple go then walked into the ring, trotted round and jumped everything beautifully. Was quite a scary course too- Floss has never met fillers, doubles, foliage, planks etc but she genuinely didnt bat an eye lid. So we cantered round the 2nd time and she was perfect- had a pole where she got a bit onwards to the planks but she didnt think of stopping/running out/ anything naughty. She listened to my voice, I had steering and she was just a star really!!
For a horse thats been out of training 3 1/2 weeks, I was pleased as punch with her
