Well, not sure if you can call 2'6 clear round a 'competition' but it was never-the-less an outing!!
The aim was to get their early when no-one else was there, warm up and give her anice quiet intro to sjing. Things are never straightforwards and so at the time we were supposed to be leaving I was still getting various horses in. Never mind!
Was at a local indoor equestrian centre, warmed up so sweetly outdoors in a small arena with 4 others whizzing round

She was amazingly calm and listening to me which was nice. Popped the practice fence a few times (knees skyhigh so at least I know she can jump!!)
Couldnt believe it when she walked into the covered collecting ring, stood as cool as a cucumber watching a couple go then walked into the ring, trotted round and jumped everything beautifully. Was quite a scary course too- Floss has never met fillers, doubles, foliage, planks etc but she genuinely didnt bat an eye lid. So we cantered round the 2nd time and she was perfect- had a pole where she got a bit onwards to the planks but she didnt think of stopping/running out/ anything naughty. She listened to my voice, I had steering and she was just a star really!!

For a horse thats been out of training 3 1/2 weeks, I was pleased as punch with her

I bet you are pleased, that's amazing! Just the right attitude, and if she's got the talent too you'll be onto a winner! I'm really pleased she went so well for you!

And don't poke fun at 2'6"! Some people happen to be scared of 2'3"!

THat is absolutely fantastic, goes to show what a great attitude she has. Also goes to show what a good rider you are to have her as trrusting and confident as she is - you should give yourself a big pat on the back!!

Bless her, what a little star!!
I think Sarah is getting somewhere with talking owner into selling her now too!! I think he has agreed, it's now just price, so don't talk her up too much

BTW, i printed off the [non]hunting pics of you, and Sarah took them to the owner (who was in hospital at the time) and she said it almost brought a tear to his eye, he was so pleased for her!!

Also, how's it going with getting weight on her?

Aww thats sweet!!
Yay to him hopefully letting me have her. My parents absolutely love her (they took me last night) which is a very positive sign. She's so straightforwards I think if I can get her out jumping xc fences next month, we may bring the intro plan forwards.

Weight is ok- she's def put on but is going to take a while to fill out in all the right places. Shall take some pics this week

you told them then.. haha, how did they take it?

Welll..... I sort of told them- they think he's covering her costs so thats fine. I introduced them to the idea that she may become mine and they didnt seem too anti the idea....

Boss, did you not know that you are meant to lunge ex racehorses for a month, to get rid of all the stereotype behaviour?

Oh god no- does that mean she's going to turn loony on me and gallop off next time I get her on grass......

I feel like I should maybe doing remedial walk work or lunging her in a pessoa. But f*ck that, I wanna event!!!!

I'm quietly hoping for Larkhill.....
But we shall take it as it comes- I dont think she's going to be mega special but she's so easy and amenable that she'll make a cracking allrounder
