Flu and Tet question.

I usually don't have to worry about restarting the course as Im pretty good at keeping it up to date (usually). I misread Addies passport and thought she was due for a booster in April 09 when in fact I was wrong Opps.!

SO, I had to start it again. She had her first one and the vet (young girl who seemed a bit dippy) said her 2nd one was due in 2 weeks. I questioned this as didn't think it was right but she assured me it was.

When I took Addie to boot camp I explained that she would need her second whilst with them but they also said it wasn't due 2 weeks after the 1st.

Can anyone confirm this? I thought it was like 4 weeks after then the 3rd 6 months or something? But, I haven't had to restart for YEARS so may well be wrong.

It is 6 wks then 6 months then yearly. Call your vet up and ask the receptionist when your next jabs are due or speek to your normal vet and not this dippy girl.

between 3 weeks and 3 months for the second I believe, then between 5 and 7 months for the 3rd

ETS - My boy was re-started in Jan because they don't give the 3rd injection in Holland, so he needed the whole course again - grrr! He is having his second injection in March when I have 2 others due.

I've just had 2 horses started and it was 3-6 weeks between first and second and then 6 months for the third.

Primary vaccination -Two injections given no less than 21 days and no more than 92 days apart

Then a first booster given no less than 150 days and no more than 215 days after the 2nd injection of the primary vaccination

Then a booster injection given within each succeeding 12 months.

i was always told 4 to 6 weeks for the 2nd one then 6months for the 3rd then your anual booster every year!

This is what my vet told me as well as I had to start a new course for Hattie.

i cant believe they sent you a vet who doesn't know when the next jab is due - 2wks is for dog's initial courses, not horses!

it's 21-92 days between 1st and 2nd, then 150-215days between 2nd and 3rd.

Yup what PBT has said is the official rules written out on the basic flu vacc. certificate. Thats what you need to go by.
