Can a horse be ridden straight after a flu booster jab? Transport problems means I have to hack over to the vet's surgery (1 1/2 miles) for M's jabs.

Should I give him the day off from hard work afterwards?

I used to hack to the vets for my horse' jabs too- the vet said this was fine as long as they didnt sweat up as that can cause problems with the horse trying to battle the vaccine and control temp. so as long as your horse is a quiet hack then there should not be any problems

i've hacked to the vets for my horses flu jab - hour's hack. i've always worked my horse as normal from the next day - modern flu jabs are very safe in this respect and the data sheets dont say any time off is necessary anymore.
