Now I wish I had the passports on me so I could tell you exactly what jab (the correct medical name each one was) but I know it was something or over (as in the name) then it ended with FT and then the other was something or other and ended in F, so I presume the FT is the flu and tet jab combined? if so is it normal for a horse to have the FT twice in the same year, as in six months apart? I thought they just had the one tet jab per year, unless I'm just getting totally confused, I don't normally look, I just get the paper work stamped but after looking I was just wondering what meant what etc

Thanks

Well the mare had an FT 6 months ago as she'd not had her T for a year, so gave her a combined but my gelding had the FT 6 months ago and the FT combined again this week, but then I'm no vet, maybe the F's and FT's after the correct name of the jab is nothing to do with what I'm thinking it is...I duno, hmmm I'll take another look tonight, doubt it will do any harm of course just wondered if it was right or not that's all.

If a horse is entered in an FEI competition then they have to have a FT vaccination every 6 months otherwise they are not allowed to compete

Or if you have started a new course as one was missed, or the horse has never been vaccinated. The 2nd and 3rd vac would be about 6 months apart and all 3 are flu and tet in that circumstance. After the 3rd you would then get flu yearly and tet every 2 yrs unless competing two as mentioned by poster above.
