Just a quick vaccination question – Is the booster the same as the initial vaccination dose? My old loan pony’s passport has been lost. We were just going to have his annual boosters done (now done 40 days ago) and trace back the old vets for his old vaccinations – however, we can’t get hold of all of them so need to start afresh so that he’s all ok for pony club and stuff :-(.

Does the booster that he had 40 days ago count for the first dose if we’re starting again, or is it a different dose/injection?

So frustrating!!! Thanks all.

The 2nd vaccine needs to be given between 21-92 days after the first one. As long as the one you have already had was flu and tet then that will be fine to act as the first jab of the course.
