Yesterday morning Baron looked like he had fluid on both his front legs around his tendon area. There was no heat at all, he didnt flinch when I poked and prodded and was completly sound when walked and trotted in a straight line in hand.

Turned him out all day and my friend who part loans him brought him in later on. She said he looked like he had fluid around his pastern area but once again no heat and still sound.

This morning front right tendon area had fluid but no heat.

There isnt loads of fluid and if you didnt know what his legs usually looked like you wouldnt be able to tell.

How worried should I be? His back legs occasionally puff up when he has mud fever or if hes kept if when hes used to going out but NEVER his front ones. Am I being paranoid? Should I ride him? Should I call the vet?

I would suggest cold hosing legs 20 mins then stable bandage both legs. In morning give some light exercise if sound, and if swelling goes down, sounds wingall thing if not phone vets and have chat.
If you in any doubt phone vet before weekend as bank holiday and double time payment this long weekend

I got my YO to look last night and he said it is not his tendons.

The swelling is around the cannon bone area but from the side and around the back on both front legs. After bringing him in yesterday afternoon I could still feel a little fluid just about his fetlock area. He is sound and it isnt hurting him and there is no heat at all.

This has only happened in the last 2 days but nothing at all has changed. But in the last 2 weeks he has been at grass all day every day compared to only a few days a week over the winter.

Like I said unless you knew him you would not even notice the swelling but it is deffinatly there. I rode him yesterday and he was fine.

They were up again this morning though.

Ive just read up on windgalls and it doesnt sound like that. The swelling is not around his fetlock, I will see if I can get a photo of it tomorrow morning.

Does anyone have a photo of a windgall just so I can compare?
