Need to keep the fly mask on my boy as the flys are causing him very bad conjuctavitus but no matter what I do he has it off within no time, I just don't know what to do, has anyone else had this problem and if so do you have any solutions?

What make is the fly mask? Some stay on better than others.
And if the conjunctivitis is really bad...your vet may be able to give you some eye ointment which will sort it out more quickly.

Leather headcollar over the top, i have a Legacy mask with an old thin leather collar over the top and still my girl can get the mask off if she tries hard enough....

Sen gets conjuntivitus from the flies as well so this year I bought her a fly mask as well. It's the Farnam Ultrashield 2 one. I bought the Arab sized one for her but it's still a bit big in the noseband area (she has a small dished head) so I have to pull the velcro tapes over on each other to make it fit better.

So far it's stayed on (she's been wearing it since May) but I don't turn her out with a headcollar on.

i had a rambo fly mask that wouldn't budge. even trying to take it off myself was a struggle.
didn't help that my filly decided the velcro noise was terrifying and tried to run backwards everytime i tried to take it off

The cashel crusader ones are good, although if on tight enough they tend to rub merlins lower jaw

So I cut a length of off my girth sleeve and put this through!!!

I bought a fly mask (a full face one with ears) for £4 It stays on forever. Niagara keeps his one for 3 days solid until i come to the yard to look after him. He's never had a problem with it..

Do you only check him every three days?
I am confused...

My horse did the same, tried so hard to get them off that he ripped the straps off one, and made holes in another. I gave up and got him a fly fringe, which he tolerates more so it stays on.
