I had decided to put Tarquin fly mask on early this year as he kept taking it off last year as he was really itchy. He's keeping it on for now but was wondering what the long term implications of wearing a fly mask 24/7. Just someone at work today said they wouldn't put one on all the time as it affects their sight. I've got the Rambo one, that is quite heavy duty.

No one brave enough to comment!?

I take my mare's off at night unless there are loads of flies around in the evening - I just think it can't be a nice thing to wear all the time

She has a Roma one which is quite light. Her eyes swell up from fly bites so she has to have something on.

I wouldnt fancy leaving one on all night but then hey Im paranoid.
Why cant someone make one with a clear viser over the eyes instead of the mesh. I looked like a right idiot in the shop as I checked to see which ones had the best visability

. Ive got the field relief one but have just got the Rambo one. Not tried it yet though.

My boy has his on 24/7 all summer. Has done for years, Never had a problem. Horses see loads better in the dark than humans. Their eyes are made up differently.

I find the cheaper fly masks come off more frequently. The more expensive, equilibrium type ones that are slightly elasticated tend to stay on much better.

My mare wears her Shires one (with ears and nose) 24/7 she gets drippy eyes with flies and sunburnt nose otherwise. Not had a problem with it so far.
