Tried so far....

Casherel - he HATES it and will rub and rub until it come off (its the nose part he doesn't like)

Equilibrium - fits beautifully, doesn't annoy him BUT he ends up with a wide band of fur missing right across his nose where the padded noseband rests.

Rambo - rubbed bald patches either side of his cheeks in one day

Roma - sweats under the fur fabric which makes him rub until it comes off

Lycra with mesh - one roll and its off

Any suggestions - needs to have ears as the midges bite him in there (he's an arab)

I have a Premier Equine Xtra mask, the one with the nose. Not had a rub in 3 years and it's still going strong. Washes up nicely, has ears and has never come off.

ETA the PE one doesn't hug the nose like the cashel ones do.

another vote for PE, mines been used on many horses, hasnt rubbed any of them and even put up with pulled off by a playful foal who thought it was great fun to rip all the masks off and trash them. PE stood up very well and is still in use

Cashel masks are brilliant. Slightly more pricey, but mine lasted all last summer, never came off or rubbed and is still looking as good as new. Can't recommend them highly enough.

buy on of the velcro fly fringes .. keeps the flies off, horse comfortable and they will pull off should your horse catch it on a fence post or similar. i far prefer these than masks. and they work!
