fly plagues

Anyone else suffering with flies?

since it got warm I am literally walking into walls of horrbile black large midge like things, they are in the horses ears and nostrils, I think I swallowed 4 just going into the field today, through my nose!

Never seen it this bad and Im not sure what the horrid little bugs are

I am also having large midges pestering my mare and I am putting fly cream around her face and ears and also around her udders, I sure I have not had to do this so early in the year.

I've just bought the first fly repellant of the year today!! I too have those disgust midges out, all in the horses ears and around their teats - literally hundreds of them!! Can't believe we're only in March!!!! Not good.
