My Welsh Cob is a real baby when it comes to flies so I'd like to invest in a durable fly rug, that will fit his huge shoulders and not make him over heat.

What makes would you recommend?

He currently wears Weatherbeeta Orican/Fal?shires Typhoon or Mark Todd rugs but I'm not sure if the fit of the fly rugs come up differently... He's 14.3hh and usually wears a 6'3 rug.

I have a clydesdale and a gypsy cob - both have the Rambo fly protector rugs, though I personally take off the neck cover.

The rug fits them both very well, never moves and offers good fly and to a certain extent midge protection. Mine wear them 24 x 7 - Chancer all the summer and Cairo for a fair amount of it. Never had any rubs or sore places. When I did use the neck covers for very bad days, again they fitted well and didn't do any harm.

Expensive, but worth it.
