I know that we just had snow last weekend but can anyone recommend a good fly rug?

i've never used one before as I like my horse to have her rugs off whenever she can but I think we might need one for the new boy.
I've read the stuff about the rambo one with bug repellent but I'm not certain whether it makes sense to spend so much unless I know it's going to work.
Thanks
Nicky

I had the HW Sweet Itch one but it did get shredded... and the velcro neck bits have come off in most places. I then got a Boett which has been good although again, it has had a few nicks in it. The Boett is probably the best (as you probably know) but your horse probably doesnt need something so covering. The only prob I had with it was that it got really static (no matter how I washed it) so horse began to flip out when I took it off him!

I did have an Amigo one but wasnt as inpressed with it compared to the Rambo one, the material rubbed & got static so i sold it at the end of the summer and have just purchased another Rambo one so the pair of them match now

I've just received 2 mark Todd combo's and they were £100 for both with postage, havn't even got them out of the package yet but they looked like they have a decent belly pad on them which one of my mares def needs so i thought i'd give them a try. Will let you know if their any good, have had Aerborn in the past-crap,Derby House- too big allround,Wetherbeeta-rubbed at shoulders like mad,too deep. Hopefully these will last better!!! I usually go through one every summer, now i have 2 i'm hoping i won't need to but anymore next year.

My boett is in its third year, apart from a few plucks and a bit of fading it is still goping strong. It was also the only one I found that didnt rub my mares withers

i have the amigo ones - been very pleased. picked mine up on cyber checkout for £20 so was bargain! but there on there at the moment for £29!
