Can anybody recommend a reasonably priced, well fitting fly rug. My dutch warmblood mare has to be covered during the summer months as she reacts badly to fly bites.

I allready have a Mark Todd ultra fly rug for her and this is probably one of the best I have used on her but if it get really hot she gets rather warm underneath it, so what I am looking for is a decent second rug. It needs to be a generous fit around the shoulder as I find alot of them can be a bit tight in this area and cause rub marks. Has anyone got a premier equine fly rug and if so, what are your views on it?

I do like the amigo fly rugs but the neck covers are a bit useless and the shires/saxon rugs are a good fit untill they are washed, and I do wash my rugs regularly. So, please give me your opinions on what's out there. Thanks

I use the derby house one on my mare. Works really well and its not too expensive. However I do go through about 2 a season as my mares really rough on her rugs and manages to ripe them, but I think this would be true for all fly rugs cause of what they are made of.

Hi, ive just bought a fly rug for £19.99 from Prequestrian (01580 851122), great value comes with neck cover and fly mask, well chuffed with it.

I really rate the Rambo flybuster, although it could be quite pricy as a second rug, unless you could pick up one on ebay. But they give loads of room round the shoulder and it's also a really tough rug, mine has lasted forever!
