What is everyones recommendations for fly rugs this year? My boy is Cob X so don't want anything tight on his shoulders. The Aussie Allrounders don't really fit him properly and they have always been my go too for all my horses for years! I have a Le Mieux Kudos stable rug which I love and considering the fly rug in this range or looking at the shower proof ones from PE?

Swish are brilliant for chunky horses! Our Welsh doesn’t fit many but she fits these x

I have one who is wide in front - I have the PE fly rugs (not the showerproof ones as I've heard they can get quite hot)

Waiting for the Equilibrium one to be restocked but I do love swish rugs so may have a look at them - a high UV protection is important for me too though.

The Maxima Equestrian ones have fully adjustable front fastenings that allow room for wide fronts and they currently have 40% off at the moment, I think that now makes them about £26 with free delivery.

I have and really like the Horseware Ireland 3in1 Camofly fly rug for my cob. He is quite chunky but not a heavyweight.

Mostly I use Amigo Aussie, but in the proper heat my go to is the premier equine super lite - they are roomy, adjustable, very light material and if they do get wet dry super quick.

Derby House have always been my choice for the stockier pony/horse - I'm another that finds the waterproof ones too hot in any temperature over 12 degrees. I would alternate between a waterproof one and an ordinary one if I was going down this route.

Ruggles is another make I've been told is good but I've not had experience of them myself.

Are the PE fly rugs super generous like the rest of their rugs! He's usually a generous 6ft 3 (some 6'3's are too small but swish 6ft 3 is fine)

I can’t stand their other rugs so can’t really compare I’m afraid. I’d say more generous than horseware, but not excessive

I find the waterproof fly rug is fine in warmer temperatures so long as it is white, or light brown after a few rolls in the mud 🤣

Swish do a couple types, we have both…

The nylon one is very good but they can get a bit warm in it during the height of summer, so just something to bear in mind. We have the waterproof version too which is amazing and tough!

I like Maxima zebra rugs, fit gd and keeps flies away. Hate Buccus fly rug and don't like any of the others. Don't bother with the waterproof ones, wouldn't waste my money.

They aren't quite as generous but still fitted my broad 6'3 horse. They aren't quite as generous with the fabric as the turnouts.
