Fly - so complex

So I have had Fly for a couple of weeks now. He is so complex. He threw me last saturday but in all honesty it was well deserved. I asked him to jump after a hack without schooling round and he objected. I pushed the issue and he answered with a series of massive bucks and eventually a twist to add for good measure. The next day I took him indoors and did a double clear round. He is so weird. He seems to be so insecure sometimes and yet he is 11. He responds well to your voice and there is no way I can force an issue with him. He has such talent, I just need to know and turst him better and I think he feels the same. Fun ride next week, bit apprehensive but trust him to behave. ?????????

I would have him physically checked - teeth and back.
Then if you continue to get this inconsistent behaviour suggest a really good qualified instr on the ground to help...
