I’ve now got my 2 horses on a lovely yard, which is also a working farm with cattle. It is a lowland farm so also wetland.
Wanting fly spray,Also fly rig recommendations for chunky cob!
Thanks 😁

NAF Off citronella spray.

I use shires rugs for my natives. The mesh ones rip easily if he’s that sort. The cotton ones are more durable.

I would also recommend using Deosect as a month long fly spray application (or Spotinor).

Just flies, or also midges?
If you find midges also out in force (which low lying wetland often produces, being particularly fond of nice, stagnant puddles) - Boett Blankets, and don’t mess about! The Boett + ones are more suitable for cob shapes, their own sizing: 5, 5+, 6, 6+ etc.
If it does turn out to have a midge issue, probably need to re think the fly sprays, too.
Good luck.

We have cows at our yard (and a massive chicken shed so summer is grim for flies!) we use Power Phazer it’s brilliant 🙌

I live in fly central, the most effective I've found is Power Phazer both the spray and cream. After going through far too many fly rugs that rubbed somewhere after a recommendation on here I bought a Shires Tempest which has worked perfectly for my large shouldered cob. Although I tend not to use the spray anymore as he has equine asthma and I wondered about it affecting him.

I use the Barrier one ( white bottle, green writing) now, for the little black bitey ones. In summer I use Biteback superbly, which also deals with horse and crab flies. I use a Weatherbeata fly rug, if I use one at all
