Fly type and sarcoids

Hi

When the vet says to try to keep flies off a horses sarcoids, do they mean horse flies, blue bottles, midges, or all types of flies?

House/stable flies are the culprits, I believe. Personally, I would smother the sarcoid in sudocreme so not even an exocet missile could get through.

Thanks for the info. She has a fly sheet on at the moment, but would like to give her coat some sunshine before its into winter rugs. When do the house flies disappear?
