Can someone recommend me a fly veil/ears (for riding in, preferably without the tassles) that will fit over my horse's hugely broad head?! She has a full-size head but just about squeezes into an extra-full sized browband, and the cheapie ears I bought her don't fit because the ears are too close together

Cashel do them in large sizes. They do riding and grazing ones (riding ones have thinner/finer mesh).

Shires ones come up big too (their grazing ones are thin enough to ride in IMO).

PiebaldSparkle - I really just need something to cover her ears whilst I'm walking her, she is in walk work with a Pessoa on at the moment and yanked herself in the gob quite a bit last night trying to get rid of the flies in her ears!
Thanks for the suggestions, I'll have a look at the KM ones

Another vote for the cashel ones - and they do go really big - the WB size was plenty big enough for both Cairo and also fits Farra our new clydie mare and the draft is massive for those with the monster sized heads.

Have you thought of tucking a tuft of cotton wool into her outer ear when you're schooling/lunging? Might help.

Spyda - she's got really really sensitive ears, it's taken me 18 months to be able to get near enough to them to check there's nothing wrong with them! She acts like she's got plaques, but she hasn't as far as I can see... I don't think I'd be able to get cotton wool within 100yds of her if she knew where it was going

Hence why I need some bog-standard ear covers to stop the flies landing on her ears!

LOL! Ah well, in that case, no maybe cotton wool is not the way to go then! You can get those crochet ear covers, but they always seem to be one-size and not particularly big. I've got a couple of old Rambo fly masks I don't use. The ears on those are HUGE. Would they fit your mare do you think? How about adapting one of these. Maybe cutting out the eye area so she can see properly but still have her poll and ears covered? Mind you, mine are all cob size so might be a bit small.

Or something like this?

The crochet ear cover things are what I'm after really, but not managed to find anything wide enough between the ears yet. She has a large size Rambo mask for the field and an extra large Equilibrium one, so she's definitely got a big head!! If I can't find ears wide enough then I might have a look at the mask-style riding ones, thanks!
