fly veils?

i know this may sound silly but i was wondering what fly veils (the ear cover things) are used for. i am just wondering what use it migh be to me

To stop your horse getting annoyed at flys around their ears!! I love the ones you ride in, but rather becasue they look smart rather than actually do much. The field ones are ok, but my horses get more annoyed at having them on than having a few flys around their eyes!! Horses are equipped to deal with flys, but not with mesh over their heads!!!

Stops the flies bothering so much when you're riding and reduces head shaking. They work quite well for some x

As above, my mare wears one if we are dressaging as a couple of flys or a bit of a breeze on her ears is enough to start her headshaking - which needless to say, properly ruins any dressage test!!

I use mine to help with headshaking which has helped quite a bit and also as a bonus she is better in windy weather with it on too so I put in on her all the time now!

I have a john whitaker one that matches my john whitaker velvet saddlecloth (nice and matchy matchy ) to stop the flies bothering Java as he hates flies round his ears even one sets him off!

It also can help some to concentrate especially if the surroundings are noisy,

i use mine riding at home as well as at shows - it will look very smart along with the saddlecloth at shows
